Above is a range of Psychological Thriller movie titles. Looking at the titles for these movies shows me the conventions of the genres titles, and so things I need to be including. Four of the titles have some kind of affect put of them, that is created to make the title unique and relevant to its genre, such as The Machinist having a worn out effect over the lettering, and Memento's font appearing to be handwriting, linking to its movies plot. Another theme within the titles is that they are all in bold, capital lettering. This makes the title stand out, which is what the filmmakers would want for their movie. It also alerts the audience of the movies genre, due to them all following that convention it makes them more recognisable to the genre, as well as the colours of the writing being white, dark blue and red, as those are common colours for the genre. Some of the titles within the trailer are also put upon a background, such as Gone Girl and Donnie Darko. They are both put upon a background which shows the location of the movie, and the weather to be quite dark and miserable, which supports the genre it is from accurately. I will take inspiration from this when creating my movie title. as I will want it to follow the conventions so that it fits with the genre.
